Dear friends and fellow Americans,
On this radiant Fourth of July in 2026, we gather in gratitude and awe to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America—the Semiquincentennial of our grand experiment in liberty. Two and a half centuries ago, courageous visionaries declared independence with words that still echo across time: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” From the signing of the Declaration in Philadelphia to the forging of a Constitution that has inspired generations, America has stood as a beacon of hope, a land woven from diverse threads yet bound by shared ideals of freedom, justice, and opportunity.
Today, as fireworks light the skies and voices rise in song, we pause to bless this nation—not with blind pride, but with humble thanksgiving for the enduring gifts we have received and the sacred responsibilities we carry forward. We remember the sacrifices of patriots who fought for independence, the resilience of immigrants who built communities from sea to shining sea, the courage of reformers who expanded the circle of liberty, and the quiet faithfulness of ordinary citizens who have nurtured families, churches, schools, and neighborhoods through every trial. In this milestone year, may we renew our commitment to “one nation under God,” indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

A Prayer for Our Nation and All Her People
Almighty God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, Author of liberty and Sovereign over every nation:
On this 250th anniversary of American independence, we lift our hearts to You in thanksgiving and supplication. We praise You for the abundant blessings You have poured out upon this land—from the fertile fields of the heartland to the majestic mountains, from bustling cities of innovation to quiet towns rooted in timeless values. Thank you for the freedoms we enjoy: the right to worship according to conscience, to speak openly, to pursue dreams with diligence, and to seek justice under law.
Lord, we pray for the United States of America. Guard and guide her leaders—President, Congress, Supreme Court, governors, and all in authority—that they may govern with wisdom, integrity, humility, and a deep regard for the common good. Grant them discernment to uphold truth, promote peace, steward resources responsibly, and protect the vulnerable. Heal divisions that threaten our unity; replace strife with civility, anger with understanding, and partisanship with principled patriotism.
We pray for all the people of this land. Bless every family, every community, and every soul within our borders—native-born and naturalized, young and old, of every race, ethnicity, faith, and background. Comfort those who grieve, strengthen the weary, provide for the needy, and inspire the rising generation with vision and virtue. Protect our service members, first responders, teachers, healthcare workers, and all who labor in service to others. May Your hand of mercy rest upon those facing hardship, illness, injustice, or loss, and may Your justice roll down like waters.
Forgive us, O God, where we have fallen short as a nation and as individuals. Turn our hearts toward righteousness, renewal, and reconciliation. Rekindle in us the faith of our forebears, the hope that sustained them through revolution and civil war, depression and world conflict, and the love that binds us as neighbors. Help us to cherish and defend the principles of our founding while courageously addressing the challenges of our time—with innovation, compassion, and moral clarity.
As we celebrate 250 years, we look forward with expectant hope. May America continue to be a light to the nations, a land where freedom flourishes, opportunity abounds, and faith in You bears good fruit. Prosper the work of our hands, guard our shores, and draw us ever closer to Your perfect will.
