๐ โWhere there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.โ
โProverbs 29:18 (ESV)
๐ What is “Vision”?
In Scripture, the concept of vision isn’t about human ambition or corporate goalsโitโs about the supernatural revelation of Godโs will. The Hebrew word ืึธืืึนื (chazon), translated โvision,โ refers to divine communication through seers and prophets (cf. 1 Sam. 9:9). In times when these revelations are absent, the people become spiritually unmooredโ”undisciplined and unbridled.”ยน
The biblical terms for โvisionโโfrom Hebrew ืึทืจึฐืึธื (marโah) and ืึดืึธึผืืึนื (chizzaiwon), to Greek แฝ ฯฮฑฯฮนฯ (horasis) and แฝฯฯฮฑฯฮฏฮฑ (optasia)โoften describe a supernatural unveiling. Itโs a piercing of the natural veil, allowing insight into Godโs activity, whether in the present or the unfolding future.ยฒ
In a nation like ours, where prophetic voices are often drowned out by politics, noise, and apathy, we need holy vision more than ever.
๐ง Let Us Prayโฆ
๐น A Prayer of Self-Dedication
by William Temple
Almighty and eternal God, so draw our hearts to you, so guide our minds, so fill our imaginations, so control our wills, that we may be wholly yours, utterly dedicated to you; and then use us, we pray, as you will, and always to your glory and the welfare of your people; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.ยณ

๐น A Prayer for Work and Purpose
Father in heaven, thank You for giving me meaningful work in this life. Help me become ever more skilled in my calling. As others witness the gifts Youโve placed in me, may they know that those abilities come from You. May the work of my hands, my mind, and my body bring glory to Your name. Help me to be a faithful steward of these talents so they bear much fruit in Your kingdom.โด
๐น A Prayer for Our Nation and Its Vision
Lord, grant the people of America a clear, prophetic vision for this year as we serve our communities. Guide our motives in love, and grant us discernment during times of trial, so that we may walk in Your will every day. May peace and hope sustain us through uncertainty, and may our faithfulness endure even in chaos. Help us live out Your truth in word and deed, putting Christian principles into action to build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Bless our homes, our churches, and even our civic spaces. May all of them give honor and glory to Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

๐๏ธ Final Reflection:
We are in a time not unlike 1 Samuel 3:1โโThe word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision.โ But rare is not the same as gone. Let us recommit ourselves to the law of the Lord and pray that He revives our spiritual sight. Blessed is the one who keeps Godโs lawโespecially in a time of lawlessness.
