This appears to be a deliberate attempt to increase racial tensions in America. The Democratic Party relies on these tensions to garner support from Black voters. Juneteenth serves primarily as a reminder of slavery. It does little, if anything, to bridge the divides of segregation and slavery. These divides are frequently associated by those on the left with those on the right. However, the right has no historical ties to these issues.
This blog focuses on biblical philosophy, and at the core of that philosophy is reconciliation and forgiveness:
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. – The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Col 3:12–15.
Churches, families, and para-church organizations should critically assess this holiday. It is used as a political strategy. This strategy tries to create a misleading narrative among Black Americans. It questions the support and concern Democrats have for their community. This perception is increasingly contradicted by empirical evidence over time. Consequently, faith-based communities should focus on living a life devoted to Christ. They should exemplify love and charity toward all individuals. It’s important to maintain a posture of humility and gratitude.
In summary, Juneteenth is a contentious holiday that aims to divide race relations in America. It also aims to covertly induce guilt among some white people. If you are a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, you should not partake in such division. No Church should promote or celebrate it. This day has nothing to do with reconciliation; it is used by the progressive left to stoke hatred and animosity. Do Not Be Fooled!
