The Call to Follow
O hear the voice that bids thee rise,
And bear thy cross in humble guise;
The path is steep, the call is clear:
“Take up thy load, and draweth near!”
O soul, be strong, yet lowly bend;
The cross shall break thee โ yet shall mend.
The Way of Sorrow and Light
Through thorn and flame, through night and sword,
We walk the way prepared by Lord;
No crown of ease, no earthly throne,
But rugged wood and splintered bone.
Yet in this road, the true heart seesโ
The wounds that heal, the chains that free.
The Boldness of Living Faith
Go forth with boldness, saints of God!
Lift high the cross, though few applaud;
Proclaim His name, though kingdoms fall,
Confess His grace, confess His call!
Yet speak with love, and serve with tears,
And walk in faith, and cast out fears.
The Cloak of Humility
Not thine the glory, not thine the boast,
But His alone who saved the lost;
O let thy deeds be clothed in dust,
And set thy haughty heart to trust.
The lowest seat, the humblest partโ
These are the treasures of God’s heart.
Fear and Trembling
And when the final trumpet calls,
And mountains break and terror falls,
Come not with pride before the Lamb,
But trembling, speak His holy name.
Fall down with awe, with silent tearsโ
Saved by His blood, with holy fear.
Chorus (optional for between verses):

O bear the cross, O brave the flame,
O walk the path of scorn and shame;
In fear and trembling find thy place,
And live and die beneath His grace.
